Phone Number Migration Process

In order to start the migration of a phone number from a Business Solution Provider (BSP) to MOBIWEB as your BSP, disabling the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is one of the requirements. Below you'll find the steps to disable the 2FA for your WhatsApp number in Meta.

Before You Begin

Business Admin Access You need full admin rights to the Meta Business account

Active Phone Number The number must be currently active on WhatsApp Business

2FA Disabled Two-factor authentication must be temporarily disabled

Follow these steps to disable Two-Factor Authentication for your WhatsApp Business number

Login to Meta Business Suite

Access your business account using your credentials

Access Steps

Visit https://business.facebook.com
Log in using your business credentials
Click the "WhatsApp Manager" icon
Select your business account

Requirements

Business admin access
Active Facebook Business account
WhatsApp Business API access

Important: Ensure you're using the correct business account that owns the WhatsApp number you want to migrate.

Navigation Steps

You'll see all phone numbers connected to your WhatsApp Account
Identify the number you want to migrate
Click the 'Settings' icon for that specific number
Ensure you select the correct number

Verification

Double-check the phone number
Confirm it's the active number
Verify business ownership

Warning: Selecting the wrong number may cause service disruption. Always verify the phone number before proceeding.

Disable Two-Factor Authentication

Turn off 2FA for the migration process

Configuration Steps

Navigate to Phone Numbers > Configurations
Find "Two-step confirmation" section
Click to disable 2FA
Confirm the action

Business Admin Rights

Only Business Admin can disable 2FA
Owner of WhatsApp Business Account required
Full administrative privileges needed

Note: The Business Admin (Owner of the WhatsApp Business Account) can disable 2FA directly from WhatsApp Business Manager. There will be an option to disable or enable it in the configurations section.

Security Considerations

Temporary Disable 2FA should only be disabled during migration

Re-enable After Remember to turn 2FA back on after migration

Change Your WABA Business Name

Steps to update your WhatsApp Business Account name on Facebook Business Account

Please take note: This process is only applicable for WhatsApp Business API users.

Log in to Facebook Business Manager

Go to the Facebook Business Manager and log in with your credentials.

Navigate to Business Settings

From the Business Manager homepage, click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner and select 'Business Settings'.

Access WhatsApp Accounts

In the Business Settings menu on the left, scroll down and click on 'Accounts'. Under 'Accounts', select 'WhatsApp Accounts'.

Select WhatsApp Account

You will see a list of WhatsApp Accounts linked to your Facebook Business Account. Select the WhatsApp Account you wish to edit.

Edit Account Details

Click on the 'Settings' tab for the selected WhatsApp account. Look for the 'Account Details' section, where you can see the current business name.

Change Business Name

Click on the 'Edit' button next to the business name. Enter the new name you wish to use for your WhatsApp Business Account.

Important: Ensure that the new name complies with WhatsApp's naming guidelines and policies.

Submit and Save Changes

After entering the new name, click on 'Save' to submit the changes. You may need to wait for Facebook to review and approve the new name, which can take some time.

Verification and Confirmation

Once the name change is approved, you will receive a confirmation notification. Your WhatsApp Business Account will now display the new name.
