Official Business Account
- Business name can appear in the chat list and thread
- Name can appear even when the contact is not saved
- Status is controlled by Meta and is not guaranteed
The short answer: Meta says your WhatsApp Business account type determines whether an unsaved customer sees your business name or phone number. Coexistence itself does not grant a branded chat-list name.
According to WhatsApp’s Help Center, customers who chat with an Official Business Account can see the business name even when they have not saved the number. For a regular business account, customers see their saved contact name; if the number is not saved, they may see only the phone number.
Therefore, a Coexistence number can still have a complete business profile, but Coexistence does not automatically make the account official or guarantee that the brand name replaces the number in every customer’s chat list.
This is the distinction in Meta’s answer. The setup method and the account’s customer-facing status are not the same thing.
It lets the WhatsApp Business App and Cloud API operate on the same number. It is not an account-verification badge.
Use a business name that represents your organisation and matches your external branding, following Meta’s naming rules.
Neither iwsapp.my nor another solution provider can override Meta’s account classification or the customer’s WhatsApp interface.
Select it because your team needs the Business App and API together—not because it guarantees a different chat-list identity.
Keep your profile photo, business description, category, website and address complete and consistent. Encourage customers to save your official number, and use your approved templates to introduce the brand clearly.
